SUMMARY:Dive the Lake Clean Up Event
DESCRIPTION:The Prior Lake Association (PLA) will be hosting our annual scuba dive and clean up the lake event. The goal is to bring up cans\, bottles\, sunglasses\, tires\, snowmobiles\, etc. that are littering the bottom of our beautiful lake. \nIf you are not a scuba diver but want to contribute to this great effort\, you can also volunteer your vessel as captain or be a deck hand as divers will need assistance entering and exiting the water. \nThis event is open to PLA members and nonmembers. Special awards will be presented for most unique treasures found. Event will be capped at 20 divers and 15 volunteers so sign up soon. \nDivers and volunteers will receive a t-shirt and $25 Charlies gift card for lunch. \n\n8–8:30 a.m. Check in at Knotty Oar Marina\n9–11:30 a.m. Dive\nNoon Awards and Photos at Knotty Oar Marina\n\nDivers must provide their own equipment\, weights\, and tanks. After the hike\, head to the Ed Mako Environmental Learning Center cabin for a complimentary cup of cocoa\, the perfect end to a memorable night under the stars. \nRegistration is required in advance and the event is expected to reach full capacity. The trail will be flat-packed\, but please note that strollers are not advised. Families with young children are encouraged to bring a sled for easy travel along the path and everyone is encouraged to dress in layers and wear appropriate footwear for an outdoor winter event.

DESCRIPTION:Get an up close and behind the scenes look at many of the big rigs that support the City of Eagan’s parks\, trails and roads. Guests will see mowers\, plow trucks\, police and fire vehicles\, the famous garbage truck and more. Activities will include equipment demos\, face painting and giveaways while supplies last. Event will be held rain or shine. Help fill The Open Door truck by bringing a canned food donation. Additional parking will be available at Oak Hills Church.

SUMMARY:Valley Winds In Concert
DESCRIPTION:The Valley Winds will present a concert at 7 p.m. on May 22 at the Eastview High School Performing Arts Center\, 6200 140th St. W.\, Apple Valley. This is the concert band’s second performance after being organized in November. \nThe 65-member ensemble will perform a variety of contemporary and classic wind band literature during the free concert. \nDr. Jerry Luckhardt\, band director at the University of Minnesota\, will guest conduct Rest by Frank Ticheli. Luckhardt also conducts the Medalist Concert Band of Bloomington. Valley Winds associate conductor and co-founder Matt Gullickson will conduct The Wilderness by Rossano Galante. Gullickson directs bands at Eastview. Persuasion\, by Sammy Nestico\, will feature Valley Winds principal saxophonist Vicki Reuter Haack. Haack also serves as the Wind’s vice president. \nPrincipal Conductor and Valley Winds Artistic Director\, Tedd Gullickson\, says the audience can expect an exciting performance. “The Winds will be performing music by Vincent Persichetti and Stephen Melillo\, along with the spiritual\, Let Us Break Bread Together\,” he says . “As a special feature\, music from Puccini’s opera Turandot will conclude the concert.” \nGullickson continues\, “Even though the Valley Winds is a new ensemble\, they are already recognized as an outstanding performance group. They are an amazing group to work with\, wonderful people and amazing musicians.”
