The Valley Winds will present their season two opening concert at 7:30 p.m. on November 6, at the Eastview High School Performing Arts Center. This free concert will be the first of five by the band this season.
Titled Songs of the Free, the concert will include patriotic favorites and a new fanfare commissioned by the Winds. Minneapolis composer Carl Schroeder wrote Flourish for Valley Winds to commemorate the band’s first season. This will be the world premiere performance.
The 65-member Valley Winds has members from around the South Metro and as far as Owatonna and Austin. Membership ranges in age from college students to retired folks representing a variety of occupations, including music teachers, medical, tech and engineering professionals.
