Wednesday Night Live: Duniya Drum and Dance

Duniya Drum and Dance shares traditional rhythms and dances from Guinea, West Africa with the general community. Master Drummer Fode Bangoura introduces the audience to the djembe and doundoun drums while company members perform energetic dances in colorful costumes. A typical performance has audience joining in with call and response rhythm and song exercises as well as learning traditional movements to live drumming. Duniya has 13 years of experience teaching and performing in Minnesota schools and libraries.
