There’s much to celebrate this season with bridal and baby showers in the offing, as well as Mother’s Day and the opening of the picnic season with Memorial Day in May. Lunds & Byerlys offers some seasonal sips that are ideal for any springtime gathering.
Lillet Spritz
(1 serving)
Lillet (pronounced lil-lay) is an aperitif wine made with Bordeaux grapes and citrus liqueurs, and if you haven’t tried it, you’re in for a treat. It’s mellow and smooth with hints of honey and herbs—perfect in a refreshing, low-ABV spritz.
- 4 oz. Lillet Blanc
- Angostura bitters
- ice
- 2 strawberries, one sliced and one whole, divided
- 3 oz. Fever-Tree Premium tonic water
- orange twist
In a highball glass, combine the Lillet Blanc and a couple dashes of bitters. Stir to combine. Fill the glass with ice, layering the ice with the strawberry slices. Top the cocktail with the tonic water. Squeeze the orange twist over the glass to release a fragrant mist of citrus oil. Garnish with the orange twist and a whole strawberry.
Gin and Jam Cocktail
(1 serving)
Pucker up, buttercup! This tart, boozy cocktail is so good, you’ll want to serve it for every gathering.
- 1 ½ oz. Plymouth gin
- ½ oz. Campari
- 1 oz. freshly squeezed lime juice
- ½ oz. simple syrup
- 1 Tbsp. triple berry jam
- ice
- 1 ½ oz. sparkling water
- thyme sprig, for garnish
In a cocktail shaker, combine the gin, Campari, lime juice, simple syrup and jam. Fill the shaker halfway with ice. Shake until chilled through, about 30 seconds. Fill a rocks glass with ice. Double strain the cocktail into the glass. Top with the sparkling water. Garnish with a thyme sprig.
